What is a CU Events Week?A CU Events Week is a focused series of events, usually over 5 days, designed to explore the Christian faith, create opportunities for conversation, and invite people to hear the message of Jesus in an open and respectful setting. It’s for everyone, whether you’re a Christian, curious about faith, or just want to see what it’s all about.

What’s the Heart Behind It?
CU Events Weeks are rooted in the Bible’s message that Jesus came for everyone, regardless of background or belief. The goal isn’t to pressure anyone, it’s to create space for honest questions, meaningful dialogue, and real friendship. As Paul writes in Romans 10:14, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?”
Why Do They Matter?
Many students first hear about Jesus clearly and personally during Events Week. Some explore faith for the first time, some start reading the Bible with a friend, and others decide to follow Christ. It’s a week where the Christian Union seeks to reflect God’s welcome to all.
What Kind of Events Happen?
Each day usually includes a mix of:
- Lunch talks: Friendly, short talks explaining who Jesus is and why He matters, often over free food or coffee.
- Evening events: These might include live music, panel discussions, Q&As, testimonies, or themed socials.
- Cultural and fun events: Things like international food nights, games evenings (like Games Without Borders), sports tournaments, or film screenings, designed to build friendships and create space for conversation.
- Prayer and training: For CU members, there’s usually daily prayer and equipping to prepare and support each other.
